DESCRIPTION OF SERIOUS SIGNING: Learn to sign well with Serious Signing software! (For both the Mac and Windows) This series of HyperStudio stacks will teach you how to communicate with a hearing impaired family member or friend. Written by a sign language instructor and interpreter, the lessons presented will give you all the tools to communicate in sign language. With these stacks you-
IN ADDITION you receive instructional material in the form of Acrobat Reader files that allows you to print out all the signs in the software lessons PLUS a sign language instruction manual that will allow you to sign the sentence, or read the sentence. In 1989 Dick Claassen, the author of this package, learned sign language from one of his college algebra students who was hearing impaired. Since then he has spent a good deal of his time interpreting for and conversing with the hearing impaired. Dick also conducted dozens of classes where he taught the hearing how to sign. Eventually Dick took the best of what he had developed as a sign language instructor and wrote a superior sign language package for those of us who want to learn to communicate with our hearing impaired friends. There is an abundance of material here for the beginning signer, but amazingly, if you are truly serious about learning to sign, this software will make it possible for you to communicate in depth with a hearing impaired person. There's no fluff in this package. This is the best straight shooting sign language package for the money you will find anywhere. If you would like to learn even more about this sign language package, you are encouraged to e-mail the author, Dick Claassen at-- | |||
