OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE! Please do not send Dick your book unless you know it's as good as you can make it. The time for rewriting is BEFORE you send it to Dick. If you tell a good story but aren't comfortable with the rules of English, find someone on your end to edit it for you. When Dick receives your book he will fix minor errors in punctuation and word usage, but he will not rewrite your book. Nor will Dick accept rewrites from you after he has gone through it. Rewriting is done before you send him the book--not after. The errata sheet you send Dick after you inspect his edit, (the HTML of your book he sends you after he's gone through it), should be a maximum of 5 to 6 pages long and no more. This means you will have to make sure you've got every ding and every typo and every sentence fragment taken care of before he sees your book. Yes, you will miss some. That's why Dick goes through it carefully to clean up those instances. This may seem like a lot of work on your part. In fact, it is. But you are a professional writer. Some time on your part is all it takes to send us great copy at the outset. If we find that the book is a nightmare to fix, the release of your book will most likely be delayed. Avoid this by sending clean copy to us the first time around. Awe-Struck is on a crushing schedule to get books released on the dates we've promised you. This means we all have to work together to make this happen.
