DESCRIPTION:

Alex McAllister’s grandmother wants him to get married. Unfortunately, Alex doesn’t believe in love or marriage, but when his grandmother threatens to sell controlling interest in his family’s company if he doesn’t abide by her wishes, he concocts a devious plan to get her own way.

All he needs is an unsuitable bride, from the other side of town, to teach his grandmother a lesson. Will this stubborn bachelor teach his grandmother a trick or two? The odds are against it. Though he matches wits with company presidents every day, Alex finds himself greatly outmatched against his conniving grandmother and his bride’s two precocious little sisters. He still might have a chance, if only he can stop himself from falling in love with his wife.

REVIEWS:

"Summer’s Love is a fresh and fun fairy tale complete with a “prince” and “fairy Godmother”, unlike many others. Two precocious children and a smart–as-a-whip grandmother conspire to keep two people together who are afraid of love. It is heartwarming and sometimes hilarious how two lonely people are manipulated by three endearing charmers. They have no idea how much they mean to each other, yet the chemistry is off the charts whenever they are together. The preconceived notions each harbors are a deterrent many can identify with and leads to a round-about journey to falling in love. I laughed, I cried and I dabbed a few tears as I read Natasha Usher’s thoroughly enjoyable love story." Reviewed by Lettetia Elsasser for Ecataromance. 4 STARS

"From the moment I started reading Summer’s Love, I fell in love with the spirited characters. Summer and her sisters have been cast a hard life and know too well the real value of love and appreciation of the littlest things. Alex lost his family when he was young and really does not remember any family closeness even though his grandmother raised him. Newcomer Natasha Usher paints a very moving read that reaches into the reader’s heart. I was hooked from page one until the end and deeply moved by this extraordinary story that really delivers a superb read! The splendid characters really make this one a worthwhile read." "SUMMER'S LOVE is a fairytale, a Cinderella story with a twist, a fun and imaginative tale with children that are smarter than the grown ups (remember, this IS a fairy tale). Protective of their sister, the children bring humor to the story as they adapt to their new circumstances. Readers will enjoy this sweet romance and light-hearted tale." Excerpt:

The girls and the airplane crew stood silently behind Alex and Summer, while they were married. The ceremony was performed by the worst preacher and Elvis impersonator either of them had ever seen and at the dingiest little chapel ever created in Las Vegas.

The chapel was called the "By Your Number" Marriage Chapel, because couples took a number when they entered. When the number was called, they were escorted onto a wooden stage, enhanced by disco lights, and then married by a singing Elvis.

Summer had wanted to leave as soon as she saw the place, but Alex had told her that it was the only chapel he knew of in Vegas where the Paparazzi didn't hang out in search of celebrities. He wanted no one to know of the marriage, except his grandmother.

Raven and Amber wore matching pink dresses during the ceremony. Raven carried Summer's bouquet, which Alex had surprisingly pulled out of the jet's refrigerator. It was a small bunch of delicately trimmed white roses. It was the nicest part of the ceremony.

Amber had been kindly asked by Alex to be the ring bearer, and she had done it, but only after she sought Summer's approval. Alex had gone overboard with the ring. It was a gigantic two-carat diamond, which Summer found gaudy, but he had sworn at her when she had interrupted the ceremony, and told her that she could always pawn it later. She'd had no recourse but to slap him, despite the presence of the singing Elvis and the wedding party. Amber had then kicked him in the shins and Raven attacked him with her teeth, once more. Yes, all-in-all, the wedding was quite lovely.
