DESCRIPTION:
The
Old Man From the Stars chronicles the sole survivor of the 1947
Roswell crash, "Luke", and his struggle to elude capture
from shadowy government forces to reach the safety of the Vatican.
In the decades that follow, with the ability to morph into human
form, Luke blends into society as a Catholic priest. Father Luke
befriends the Gordon family who are later subjected to a horrifying
alien abduction that leaves behind young Thomas Gordon. When Thomas
becomes of age as a young priest, Father Luke is forced to let
his own protegee search for the answer behind his parent's abduction
which sets off a chain of events that personify the struggle between
good and evil.

REVIEWS:
"Glenn
Devlin crosses genres in this surprisingly complex tale of espionage,
conspiracy, history, and thriller. The gentle characterization
of the alien underscores the violent intentions of our government
and the men who sever it. The moral and philosophical implications
of an alien among us are explored with great sympathy and compassion.
Further, as Devlin brings out historical detail such as the crashed
weather balloon, the reader comes to reevaluate the 'facts' presented
about aliens at Roswell. Such historical accuracy of much of the
background results in a markedly believable and frightening plot
in THE OLD MAN FROM THE STARS." Reviewed

"It
will captivate you from the beginning to the end of the book.
You may start to wonder if this story could possibly happen."

"Alien
life, both friendly and sinister, diabolical government conspiracies,
and a snaking plot line that ties together real historical personalities
with his own rendition of the Roswell crash and the events surrounding
the much-conjectured occurrence, all are at work in the novel."

Excerpt:
The
wind moaned a little louder through the alcoves. Pigeons fluttered
faintly in the dark corners, their wings giving the appearance of
cherubs in the scant moonlight.
Luke
extended his arms and pulled Carlos into an embrace. The two men
held one another tightly, before backing off, each one gripping
the other's arm.
"Godspeed,
Father Luke." And with that, Carlos turned and walked into the darkness.
Sadly,
Luke turned away. His soul ached inside of him at the loss of a
dear friend. His human features slowly dissolved to reveal the oval,
elongated face. The church bells began to clamor, banging out their
message of sadness and proclamation. Luke paused to lift his alien
head and stare at the tolling bells, then slowly bowed and slipped
into the darkness, his cassock billowing behind him.

Author
BIO: Being
Deaf has not stopped Glenn Devlin from reaching his goal of becoming
a published writer. Ever since he began writing at the age of 10
in the basement of his parent's home, Glenn has been winning awards.
Glenn wrote a short story in high school about talking houses that
earned him first place where he won a pocket dictionary. Later he
wrote a conspiracy novel about a secret formula hidden inside of
Rubik's cube. The novel went nowhere but only whetted Glenn's appetite
to write more. At Gallaudet, Glenn churned out countless short stories
of horror and science fiction for the University newspaper, "The
Buff and Blue." He went on to win the Mac Dougall Creative writing
competition and the Lillian Gourley Rakon Creative Writing Awards.
Taking a stab at screenwriting while in college, his first script,
"Wrath of the Dragon," was a finalist at the 1988 Nissan Focus Screenplay
competition sponsored by Columbia Pictures. Glenn currently lives
in Arizona with his wife, two children and two dogs. He is currently
writing several screenplays before beginning work on the sequel
to "The Old Man from the Stars."
